Heron

A humble and flat place for people to reside in. It has weak walls that surround it — good for keeping out the smaller beasts here and there, but it is, after all, a canton on the edge.

Overview

Heron is an outer-ring canton of Caligo, neighboring Wickward across a stretch of wasteland road. It is unremarkable architecturally — no great spires, no fortifications worth speaking of, walls so dry-rotted in places that they are the visage of a wall rather than a working defense. Most people in Heron are farmers, tradesmen, or laborers.

The garrison at the gate, unlike Wickward's, has been alert as of Session 01. The party did not test them.

Atmosphere

Quiet. Working. Rainy. The kind of canton no one would write home about — which is, of course, exactly why the Inquisition might choose it for what they are about to do.

Status

As of session end: under canton quarantine. Inquisition columns have entered from every approach. Barriers and chains are being set up. The canton may no longer officially be a canton by morning.
